
All of my cakes are designed and made to my customers' individual requirements. I do not have stock designs because each and every occasion is different and I enjoy the challenge of producing individual designs with a personal touch. In the galleries you can see a selection of my previous work, to get an idea of what is possible. I can create anything from a cute and fun sponge cake for a child's birthday to an exquisite dream wedding cake with several tiers. The main point to bear in mind is that each cake will be designed and made to order and personalised to your requirements. If you have seen a cake, maybe in a magazine , that you like I would be happy to recreate it for you and tailor it to make it personal to you.
How do I personalise cakes? Well some people have a particular hobby or interest that they would like portrayed on their cake. I enjoy researching these ideas and coming up with a design that sums this up to perfection. Some people would prefer a photo on their cake. For some customers it is the colour that is particularly important and flowers and other decorations can be matched up to the colour of bridesmaids dresses for instance. Please ask if you have any express requirements and I will always do my best to oblige.
I bake all my cakes from scratch using good quality ingredients. I do not use cake mixes or buy cakes in from another supplier as some cake decorators do! Because all of my cakes are baked to order, I do not need to over sweeten them in order to increase the shelf life as is the case with most mass produced cakes. My cakes therefore taste like traditional home baked cakes.
The cakes
Rich fruit cake
Made with good quality ingredients including free range eggs and muscovado sugar. The fruit is first soaked in brandy and the baked cake is then matured to produce a moist cake with an excellent flavour. The cake is covered with marzipan and sugarpaste or royal icing and decorated to your requirements.
I have lost count of the number of times my customers have told me that they do not normally like rich fruit cake, but they enjoyed eating mine!

Light fruit cake
If you are adamant that rich fruit cake is not to your liking, then this is a good alternative. Again, I use only good quality ingredients including rum soaked dried apricots, sultanas, brazil nuts, pineapple and ginger. This cake has a delicious flavour but is not dark in colour like a rich fruit cake. This cake would normally be covered with marzipan and sugarpaste. Seems to be poplular with men!

Sponge cake
A moist vanilla flavoured sponge cake with a seedless raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream filling, or a delicious chocolate sponge with a chocolate buttercream filling. Sponge cakes are normally covered with sugarpaste and your choice of decoration. These cakes taste nothing like the mass produced cakes found on the shelves of most major supermarkets.
